Hello
I am working in an environment where i have a system running on SQL server 2005 - SP1.
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.5000.00 (X64) , Developer Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
I am planning to upgrade this server to 2014 latest SP.
Can i do upgrade directly from 2005 to 2014? Or , i will have to upgrade it to 2008 r2 first and go from there. All the reference material i have so far is taking 2008 r2 as the starting point. Please guide. If you can give specific steps - it would be great help.
Thanks

You will first have to upgrade to sql server 2005 SP4.
Once there you may then upgrade to sql server 2014.
