HI,
I am srinu working as a DBA. recetnly i got one problem in upgradation
in our Reproting Server (Standby) SQL Server 2005 SP4 (Version:9.0.5000) has installed, at present we want to upgrade to SQL Server 2005 Enterprise edition RTM (no Service packs, Version:9.0.1399).when i was upgrading this, it is prompting error as "existing components are later versions". To remove service packs in Reporting server there is no uninstall option in SQL Server 2005.
How can i resolve it? if you give solution for this i very appreciate you.

i believe the two options are, download the media which has SP4 built in to the setup.exe or uninstall / reinstall then service pack

can you give me the detailed information for "download the media which has SP4 built in to the setup.exe".
If you have download link for "SQL Server 2005 Enterprise edition+SP4 (SP4 built in)", can you send me please.
and there is no option to uninstall service packs in SQL Server 2005,
this option is available from Sql server 2008 SP1 only.

If you have a volume licensing subscription you should have access to MS's download website, if not you will need to uninstall reporting services then reinstall it. Not just the services packs, the whole of reporting services, just ensure you backup your encryption keys.

Hi Anthony ,
Thank for your information
In Microsoft download centre also not available.
This upgradation error (Existing components are later version) is coming for Database engine service,
clinent components, management tools, sql server native client also, not only reporting service.

well if you want to upgrade everything and if you cannot get a hold of media which is built on SP4 then you will need to uninstall and reinstall everything. if just upgrading SSRS, then just uninstall SSRS and reinstall it.
