Upgrade from sql 2005 sp1 to 2014

    Hi everyone,

    We are planning to do a side by side upgrade.

    We have SQL Server 2005 SP1.

    In the Microsoft website it says we need to have SQL 2005 SP4.

    I upgraded a 2005 SP1 database to 2014.. it worked fine.

    Am I doing something wrong. Do I need 2005 SP4?

    You need SP 4 for an in-place upgrade.
