Hi All,
Some of the application database server running on sql 2000. They plan to upgrade from 2000 to 2008.
Client will not give time time. So we have to follow the below methods
1) take a backup from sql 2000
2) restore those backup to sql 2008
3) Some of the DTS Packages migrated into SSIS package.
My Question Is..
a) Is it proper way for upgradation method
b) suppose i follow this method.. Any problems comes in future
c) If problem comes.. what is an alternate method?
Could you pls suggest me

Upgrading has been covered many times. You could search this site for "2000 2008 upgrade" and you will get a lot of information. Then maybe you can post more specific questions based on what you've learned.

This is covered in the SQL Server 2008 Upgrade Technical Reference Guide. It's called a side-by-side upgrade.
