I am runing MSSQL 7.0 SP3 in a WIN 2K SP2 server. I have to upgrade our application, which new version is only compatible with MSSQL 2K. Can I install MSSQL 2K without overwritting 7.0 and choose which one to start (not at the same time). This would be easier migration in case I have problems.

Yes you could. Install MSSQL 2k as a named instance and leave version 7.0 as the default instance. However, you will need to have separate copies of your databases for the named instance.
