I have a MSSQL database built in MSSQL 2005 developer edition Standard ( i think, anyways NOT EXPRESS).
Is the latest MSSQL database 2008 R2.
Is there any issues in upgrading from MSSSQL 2005 developer edition to MSSQL 2008 R2 developer edition
I also understand that there is NOT a lot between the 2005 and 2008 R2??
Please advise me before I spend the cash ???
ALSO...
1) I assume that MSSQL 2008 R2 has NO issues with Asp.net 2.0, Ajax and MS Visual studio 2005???
2) And I can install it on laptop windows Professional verison 2002 XP SP3???

Developer edition is the equivalent of Enterprise edition not Standard.
There should not be any issues with the upgrade to 2008R2, especially since you are keeping the same editions

I am not sure where you heard this, but there are a lot of differences, otherwise there would be no point in upgrading
1)It's hard to say that it has no issues, but it should run fine
2) you should be able to

There's not a lot between 2008 and 2008 R2 (other than BI), but there are lots of changes between 2005 and 2008.
