hi every body. I have a server with Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Sql server 7.0 enterprise edition with sp4. I put in the Boot.Ini the swith /PAE.
What can i do for sql server detects my 4GB of RAM ?

Am I right in assuming that your server only has 4 GB or RAM? If that's the case then you wont be able to use the /PAE switch as that only references more than 4GB (hope that's right, it's been a while ).
You should probably look at using the /3GB switch instead as that will allow SQL to access more memory than the standard 2GB (it tells the OS to use the 4th GB leaving the first 3GB for application use).
If your server has more than 4GB of memory then you're on the right track with the /PAE switch, a search for /PAE /3GB boot.ini should throw up hundreds of hits.

There is no way for SQL Server 7.0 to use the memory above 4GB.

Thanks mike, I have the /3GB switch and reboot my server but the memory used by Sqlserver never exced the 2GB.
what can i do?
there are any configuration in the sqlserver or
OS?

Can you see more than 2GB of memory available to the server? double-click on the system icon in control panel and let me know what you have available.
