Can someone please share there experience and suggest me is it possible to just uninstall service pack instead of uninstalling entire sql server engine. We are applying Sp3 on sql 2005 but as a back up plan can i go back to sp2, i mean can i just uninstall SP3 and re-install only SP2? Please advice.

After SQL Server 2005 SP3 has been applied, it cannot be removed without uninstalling the entire product.

As per Microsoft documentation is not possible to "uninstall SP3".

SP3 cannot be uninstalled. If required to do so, entire SQL Server has to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
Thank You,

Yes you can. It's nice that there is finally an uninstall option for service packs.
