Anyone been able to successfully remove SQL Server 2005 and all its luggage? I have followed all the steps recommended, but not able to get a clean system. Any suggestions?

Using the remove programs, it starts out okay, but always returns to the menu list with SQL Server 2005 still present.

i always remove sql 2005 first then the rest of the components like SNAC, BOL and whatever. it's like 5 uninstalls.

Every time I boot the following message appears:
Your SQL installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (could not open SQLEVN70.RLL) Please uninstall then rerun setup to correct the problem. This link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909967 (How to uninstall an instance of SQL Server 2005 manually) has at the end "If these steps did not uninstall all the components" where the first step is to make sure that the Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support Files component is installed (it is according to ADD/REMOVE tool). The next step: In Add or Remove Programs, uninstall all SQL Server 2005 components in the following order: with SQL Server 2005 the first on the list. This is where I am at with SQL Server 2005 not being removed from the ADD/REMOVE tool list.
