Uninstall SQL Server Express 2008 R2 Advanced, Install SQL Server 2008 Developer

    Hi all,

    Looks like I need to upgrade to SQL Server 2008 Developer from SQL Server Express 2008 R2 Advanced

    Do I need to uninstall? (I'm assuming yes)

    Are there any any pitfalls to consider?

    You don't need to uninstall, no (I never do). SQL Express is usually installed as a named instance, so you would have the choice of installing Developer Edition as the default instance or another named instance.

    It's up to you, but I have a machine with Developer 2005, Developer 2008R2 and Express 2008 running fine. I don't necessarily have them all running at the same time, but they remain installed.
