I need to uninstall a SQl 6.5 client from a Win 2K professional box. The client install doesn't appear under "Add/Remove programs" nor does the Sql 6.5 CD-ROM allow me to uninstall the client components. I'm stumped.
TIA,
Bill

It seems the deinstall has disappeared.
You can try the dirty deinstall
1: Export the registry, in case you make a mistake.
2: Remove the registry key
HKLM\software\microsoft\mssqlserver
(SQLserver 7 and 2000 have the keynames "microsoft sqlserver 7" and "microsoft sqlserver", so it has no effect on those clients)
3: Remove the files. The will probably be in c:\mssql
(SQLserver 7 and 2000 have other default directories)
4: Remove the shortcuts in the start->programs menu
Note: Do not try this for a server. That is more complicated.
