uninstall reporting services on a clustered instance

  • We have a 2 node cluster with 2 instances running.

Both the instances are configured for reporting services.

Now, the client wants us to uninstall reporting services from one of this instance..

What is the procedure for the same?

Are you using Microsoft Cluster Services?

SSRS is not cluster aware so you will need to launch change setup from Add\Remove programs on the node you want to remove the software from. During setup select Reporting Services radio button and remove the software.

I know..SSRS is not a part of cluster..But it would be installed for an instance right..

So, to uninstall SSRS for an instance, do we have to go the active node and follow the instructions which u mentioned?

  • no, not the active node because SSRS is not cluster aware. Go to Add\Remove programs on the node where you want to uninstall the instance and select Change.

During setup you will be asked which feature you wish to maintain, select the SSRS instance. When prompted click remove.
