A former employee attempted to set up replication on our production
databases, which are all MS SQL Server 2000. He never did get
replication working( it is snapshot replication), and we
attempted to turn off replication after we realized that log shipping
was more suitable to our needs. We were able to turn off replication
on 2 of the databases w/o incident, hownever on the 3rd we cannot make
the replication agents go away. We have no idea why, whether we are in
single user mode or standard mode, the same thing happens, we just ge
an hourglass. The same thing happens whether we attempt from query anlyzer or enterprise manager. We have let it hourglass as long as 90 minutes before
having ot kill enterprise manager. When we turned off replication on
the other 2 databases, one of which is much larger than the one we're
having problems w/, it was almost instantaneous. Any suggestions?
