Unable to run a trace from the SQL Profiler due to a DLL error

  Hi,

     On one of our SQL Servers we are having trouble running\starting the trace. Whenever we start the trace an error message pops up saying:

  [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot load the DLL SQL

  Trace.dll, or one of the DLLs it references.

  Reason: 127[The specified procedure could not be found]

   

  Can someone please advice?

  taking a stab here...

  have you tried unregistering and reregistering the DLL?

  look into the regsvr32 commandline tool for registering DLL's.
