Unable to launch SQL Server Configuration Manager

  • On a SQL 2005 SP2 server that has no Reporting/Analyzer installed recently when I try to launch Configuration Manager I get this error:

Could not connect to WMI provider. You don't have permission or the server is inaccessible. Note that you can only manage SQL Server 2005 servers with SQL configuration manager

I am logged in to the server directly as a HOPE admin. I also can run other Microsoft console management snap-ins from this server.

    Looking for some avenues..

  • Never mind resolved it...stopped and restarted the Windows Management Instrumentation service and now up and running!
