Hi,
I am trying to download SQL Server 2008 Management studio in windows xp (32 bit). I downloaded the file "SQLManagementStudio_x86_ENU.exe" but i got the below error.
"SQL Server Setup cannot continue until the following programs are installed. After installing the programs, restart the computer if required, and then restart SQL Server Setup.
Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 is available at : http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=159623"
and I see an "OK" butter below it.
I have also provided the error message as an image in the attachment.

Didn't know you could install SSMS seperately. Isn't this an express edition?
I always install SSMS using the full SQL Server media.

This is not an express edition. It is the full version. I had to install the Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 and then it allowed me to install the sql server management studio successfully.
