I successfully installed SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services on my PC & Laptop.
However when I attempt to launch Report Manager, using the URL in Reporting Services Configuration, I only get as far as the Dialogue box prompting for username and Password. Then nothing happens.
I have noticed the following Event in Event Viewer
Event Type:Error
Event Source:Report Server Windows Service (DEVELOPMENT1)
Event Category:Startup/Shutdown
Event ID:140
Date:11/08/2009
Time:08:59:33
User:N/A
Computer:PLMDEV01
Description:
The application domain WindowsService_133 failed to initialize. Error: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ServerConfigurationErrorException: The report server has encountered a configuration error.

I'll be extremely grateful for some help with this.

I have managed to successfully connect to Report Manager on my PC by following the thread for - prompt username/password when using http://localhost:8080/reports

I've also now been able to do the same with the SSRS 2008 instance on my laptop
