I am unable to connect to my dev server.
it worked fine up to now..when the system restarted it shows me the following error

Is the SQL Server service running on the machine you are trying to connect to?

This is a local machine connection?
What connection types have been enabled? (You can check in the SQL Server Configuration Manager.)

Are there any other versions of SQL installed on this machine? I've seen a similar error when trying to connect to older versions from newer versions, like using SQL 2008 SSMS to try and connection to SSIS on SQL 2005.
