Unable to connect from Windows 2003 server to the sql server installed on windows 200 server.

  • Please Help me. It is very urgent.

I am unable to connect to the sql server (2000 Developer Edition) installed on windows 2000 server from the webserver installed on windows 2003 server. There is no trusted connection between these two servers. I am able to connect from other systems in the same workgroup of SQL Server.

    Thanks in advance

  • Please try creating of alias using SQLServer Client Network Utility on the Webserver to the SQLServer. You can create alias either using TCP or Namedpipes.

  • Hi Nivedita ,

Are you able to ping the SQLServer box?

  • I am able to. I tried joing the sql server to the webserver domain as well. Still it is not connecting to sql server.

  • Does it just time out, or is there an error message of some sort?
