I am using SQL 2000 analysis services, without a service pack. I get the above message, followed by 'Unspecified Error' when I try to look at the data in Analysis Manager. I have definitely populated it, and this is confirmed in the metadata. Any ideas??? Is this a service pack issue, or something else?

I guess u forgot to quote the message above Unspecified error. Service pack might not be an issue. But if you have installed .net studio on the machine then u will need to update the MDAC component. Can provide more help if u give the error message.

Sorry - not very clear but the message was the thread name : 'Unable to browse the cube 'Budget'. '

Thanks Patilds - didn't bother to ckeck the knowledge base because it seemed such a fundamental bug - assumed I'd done something wrong. Checked out your KB article and there were 2 similar ones for SQL 2000.

Basically this is a known 'issue' and SP1 for Analysis Server fixes it.
