Along with questions, people post DDL and sample data in usable formats in that universe as well.So there are some benefits.
Yeah, but it's already been said that it's inside a black hole, and, by definition, no information can come out of a black hole, so those well-posted questions never get answered!
But you certainly get to understand the gravity of the situation.

When you create databases for ESRI's ArcSDE, it always uses the logical names of sde_dat & sde_log, no matter what the database name is. Knowing how ESRI has a propensity to hard code database names as part of the data, I'm hesitant to even try to give it a different logical name.
All I'm saying, make sure it doesn't break the application by changing the logical name. It shouldn't but you never know.

check with Esri but i'm sure changing the logical filenames will make no difference. The SDE database will be referenced by the database name only not by logical filename.
