  Hi,

  Environment: MSSQL 7 w/SP 2; Production Database

  I've read that it is more difficult/frustrating in SQL 7 vs SQL 2000 re: lack of NO-OP log records to force the active portion of the log back to the beginning of the log file.

  I need to shrink a log file in a database. Any suggestions?

  Check the FAQ's on this site or the Microsoft article here:  http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;256650.  I've used the procedure that creates dummy transactions explained there and it works quite well.  Hope this helps.
