Good morning,
I am having a problem installing SP1 on our reporting server. To be truthful I thought we on SP3 but we are not. When I run the update it fails to update the database. Below is a quote from the setup log. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

Does the cause in the KB applies to you?

Yes this does sound similar to the problem. I downloaded the KB and read through it. I want to confirm the names mapping to the groups.
FTSGroup = MSFTEUser
AGTGroup = SQLAgentUser
SQLGroup = MSSQLUser
If these are mapped correctly the SID's do not match. I did not mention this because I did not think it was relevant but at one point we changed the name of the server. As you know the names of these groups SQL creates includes the name of the server in the middle of the grous name and these match the names of the groups in local security. However the logins on the server have the old servername in frnt of the group name. Example oldservername\sqlgroupname. Not sure how that plays in this case.
I guess the question is should I change the SID's for these groups in the registry to match the SID's for the groups or does the server name change, change things. I ran @@servername and it comes back with the new server name.

I went ahead and performed the modifications per the KB and it worked. We are now on SP1.
Thanks,
Bill
