Hi,
Can anyone please let me know that can we turn on and off the TDE fundtion in sql 2008 if we want to. I will turn on the TDE and when i need to look at the data can I turn it off and again turn it on.
Is that going to affect anything in my development server.

Yes. TDE can be turned on and off.
I will turn on the TDE and when i need to look at the data can I turn it off and again turn it on.
Whether TDE is turned on or off, all the users who have permission, can see the data.
Is that going to affect anything in my development server.
You need the certificate to restore the database with TDE.
