Transforming string for ImagePath

  • Hello comunity

I would like to know how to transform my imagepath from :

    C:\PROGRAM FILES\DYNAMIC AI\DLCL\IMAGES\IMG00011-20101109-1310.JPG

    first , i change the "\" to "/" with this query :

SELECT REPLACE(st.imagem,'\','/') FROM st WHERE ref LIKE 'RESC%'

    The result is :

    C:/PROGRAM FILES/DYNAMIC AI/DLCL/IMAGES/IMG00011-20101109-1310.JPG

Now ,after changing the "\" to "/" , i want in my SELECT keep only at this point:

    /IMAGES/IMG00011-20101109-1310.JPG

i mean i need to begin to the right, to find "/IMAGES/%" and ignore "C:/PROGRAM FILES/DYNAMIC AI/DLCL".

Can someone give me some help.

    Many thanks and best regards

    Luis Santos

  • Simply this...?

    SELECT SUBSTRING(REPLACE(st.imagem,'\','/'),

    PATINDEX('%\IMAGES\%',st.imagem),

    LEN(st.imagem))

FROM st WHERE ref LIKE 'RESC%'

    and st.imagem like '%\IMAGES\%'

  • And, apparently, the REPLACE is not necessary. πŸ˜‰

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
