  i have to transfer data periodically from sql server 2005 express running on lan at local branches (multiple locations) to sql server 05 at the main office thro' internet. Can any suggest the methodology.

  You can create SSIS packages on Main office server or create linked server ...

  Replication is one option ...but I think Express Edtn will not support replication...
