Afternoon,
I am in the process of designing a process to transport data from our production database server to a 'warm' reporting server. I thought that transactional replication would be a good fit for this but I believe I may have hit a slight obstacle now.
My question is this:
Is it possible to have a SQL2005 Publisher & a SQL2008 subscriber when using Transactional Replication? The compatibility level of the production database is 90 and the SQL2008 database engine & reporting service can be changed to support this (if required)
I have read the folllowing link from MS: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143241.aspx but I am still unsure as to whether this supported? The only bit I can see that definitely says this is not supported is the Web Synchronization.
Thanks in advance guys 🙂

I've now found several locations on the net that illustrate it is possible to have transactional replication setup between a SQL 2005 Publisher & SQL 2008 Subscriber so my question is now answered.
Thanks 🙂
