Transactional Log grows and grows

  We have a sql server 2000 with 2 databases with option full recovery mode. transactional backup runs every 6 hour, the file will be 20 mb, thats OK. But the transational log will not be smaller.

  It grows and grows every hour, now its 7,4 GB and Database is only 400 MB.

  We will try to reboot the server tonight and hope the transactional log will stop growing.

  Everything seems look ok, the log job runs and report ok.

  it will not stop growing after reboot. YOu need to shrink you log file after you take backup of it. That will make it small again.
