Transaction log option is disabled.

    Hi,

    i m using sql server 2005

    i am trying to restore my Transaction log but when i right click the database go to task and then restore but in restore option i hv only database and file and group file option is enabled not transaction log.

    Can any one tell me how can i restore the transaction log..

    do you think when i check the option in properties of database, database is in full recovery and compatiblity level is SQL server 2000(80)..

    Hi,

    You won't be able to perform a transaction log restore unless you've already restored the last full backup with norecovery. There is a lot of information about log backup/restore in BOL - search for 'Applying Transaction Log Backups' which explains properly what I've said.
