    And DR doesn't just have to be about computers, what if there was a major fire and the school lost several of its buildings. What is their DR for taking care of the students?

    Actually, that comment verges on Business Continuity and Disaster Planning territory. Similar to, but not quite the same thing, as Disaster Recovery. They are inter-related. Can't have one without one of the others, but there are a host of certified BC & DR types who take this division very seriously.

    It's kind of like calling a Scotsman a Brit. @=)

    But SQLBill's correct. The whole DR & BC & DP thing might indeed make a good thesis if you're directing your efforts to a local business that could actually use the results of your research to implement better practices.
