I am using SSRS 08 for the first time (i've used SSRS 05 before though) and I'm doing a report of outstanding tasks from our internal work queue.
I have a table (or is it a tablix?) in which I have a grouping on the field 'AssignedTo'. Each row shows the totals for outstanding tasks whereas I don't want to see the detail unless I click on the toggle +/- icon on the AssignedTo field.
I've managed to hide the detail rows based on this, but there are extra columns in the detail section which I don't want to see in the initial summary format.
When I try to toggle column visibility on the group header, I get the error message, "The tablix 'Tablix1" has "AssignedTo" as a toggle item. Toggle items must be text boxes that share the same scope as the hidden item or are in a scope that contains the hidden item, and cannot be contained within the current report item unless current groupunbg scope has a Parent"
So firstly, I'm not too sure what it means by 'scope' in this context and secondly I don't see why this shouldn't be allowed to work. It makes perfect sense to me especially since I know I could do this in SSRS 05 - I used to do this sort of thing all the time. Thirdly, how can I hide the additional columns based on this toggle item?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
