I practically grew up with Asterix books! I miss reading those things!

I think SSC should have its own Asterix character. How does "Datamatrix" sound? 😀

Or, can we dub Steve Jones as "Chief Vitalstatistix"?

  • @ RayK.

I bought some Asterix DVDs recently but am a bit scared to watch them in case they're just really poor compared to the books!

Those -ix names are very clever.

You can buy them online. I found them on amazon.ca. I read them a bunch when I was younger and then searched online for quite a while for them. I have all of them in English and French now.

As for the DVD's - I have heard mixed reviews.

  • Ah, those poor pirates. After a few encounters iwth Asterix and Obelisk, I'd be more than willing to entertain a serious career change. But alas, intelligence is not a pre-requisite for becoming a pirate.

BWAA-HAAA!!!! According to some of the posts I've seen lately, it's not essentially required to be a programmer either. 😛

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • Marguerita (too bad it's too early).

I used to work for a company that had a frozen marguerita machine in the kitchen.

Every afternoon, we would fire it up so it would be ready by 5. Ahhhhh, the good old days before

someone realized there was a liability issue.
