Cold
That's what it is here; horribly cold. Got back to the UK at 4pm today after spending 30 days in mainland Spain, with night time temperatures in the high 70s (F, of course) and afternoons mostly over 100 and found the highest temperature in this bit of the UK today was 63 and it felt really horrible - uncomfortably cold.
Expect I'll get acclimitised again soon - hope so, as I am going to visit daughter in Edinburgh in about 4 weeks, and that will probably be even colder.

Well, if you wait a week or so, this heat wave in the central and eastern US may make its way over to you.

Well, I guess I can pray it does. But I'm not sure who to pray to, though - British summer weather may be controlled by the devil, not by Clare of Assisi (or by anyone else on that side), and I wouldn't want to pray to him.
I don't really understand how Saint Clare could be involved - how can the patron saint of television (did Chris Stasheff get that wrong in his Grammarye books just to make a funnier plot?) be also the patron saint for good weather, when sensible people only watch TV when the weather is bad - but they tell me she's the one.
