    WOTD: Failure

...as in, what is the matter with this d**n cluster?

    Stop using SQL 2000 😉

    Smart alec!

We have a 3-1 cluster and all three active failed over to the passive node for no apparent reason. Well, there do actually appear to be person-related reasons, but we're continuing to do our hardware / network checkup to make absolutely sure that it wasn't equipment related.

    Lemme guess, a know-it-all sysadmin? 😉

    Lemme guess, a know-it-all sysadmin? 😉

Worse. Non-sql admin deciding we don't know what we're talking about when we say "X should be disabled on our boxes."

I just remember my 2000 active/passive failing over for no reason with no errors to passive and stopped responding... about once a week. Gremlins 🙂 I do not miss that version although I face several upgrades this year :/

Hey, I thought no SQL talk in here?!?

Yes, it is all too common. I find it infuriating rather than just frustrating, especially when it impacts a customer.
