WOTD - SequecentennialJoe
That is a bit of a random word, especially in the spelling department. I'm disinclined to say that a spelling which will let most people know what is meant is actually incorrect, but...
It's a uncommon spelling - Google comes up with only 86 hits if told to search for sequecentennial (those include a couple with "seque-centennial" and one each of "seque centennial" and "sequecentennial(sp?) as opposed to 1,360,000 for sesquicentennial (which is the spelling in all the dictionaries I know of).
There are 3400 hits for sequicentennial and 3010 for sesquecentennial, so sequecentennial is 35 times as rare as the third most common spelling, and is outnumbered by not much less than 16000:1 by the other spellings.

Someday, a pyschology student is going to come across this thread and use it as an example for his/her thesis about how IT people's minds work. And the conclusion of that thesis will be ... well, more interesting than any of us can anticipate.
