    Granddaughter.

Not quite random word. My first one was born very early this morning.

Congrats to the grandfather, mother and father (and everyone else involved/affected by the new arrival)! Enjoy being a grandfather. 🙂

    Concert

(as in I'm playing one tonight!)

    Cool! What are you playing?

I just sang, played piano, and bass guitar (not all at the same time) for our holiday show at work. Way smaller time than a concert, but fun.

It's a holiday concert with a large community symphonic band I play with. I'm the principal clarinetist and section leader.

Ray, how was the show? Did you bring down the house?

I hope not! That would hurt.

Unless he wasn't in the house at the time... Ray, you have insurance, right?

How did the concert go? What pieces did you play?

Concert went very well! We played mostly a variety of holiday pieces and show tunes arranged for concert band. Among other things, we did a medley from Gypsy, something called "Charleston Harbor Celebration," and our encore was a Sousa march, "Manhattan Beach." (I don't remember other specific titles and composers; I'll have to take another look at the program when I get home.)
