WOTD - "Korean Pears" (love them this time of the year! Man are they good!)Joe
Or would that be Korean Pairs? (Would my parents count? :-D)
Why do I suddenly have a craving for kimchi?
Along with a nice hot dish of Bulgogi? Now I am starting to crave!

WOTD: cold
It was 12 degrees this morning. The cat was scratching everything, clamoring to go out, so I let him out. He was out for all of five minutes. That has to be a new record for him!

Dan, have you ever been to that Korean restaurant over on Central Ave.? I think it's called Arriang, right across the street from Kim's grocery (I understand it's run by the same people).
I've been meaning to try that place forever, but have yet to get over there.

Unfortunately my wife is not an adventurous eater. We ate at a Korean restaurant in DC last year, and she accidentally ate one of those incredibly hot peppers in her salad. It practically blew her head off. Suffice it to say, I will probably never eat Korean again.:crying:

Heh funny!
A restaurant in London was recommended by a Korean friend at Edinburgh Uni. It was ten years before I had the chance to try it out. The Arirang on Poland St, just off Oxford St, London. Dunno if it's still there but it was darned good - tabletop barbecues yum!

Now doing my best Homer: d'oh!
I have the same problem; my wife is a picky eater as well. (I've been wanting to go to Spa Brahaus up in Ballston Spa, but my wife doesn't like German food! Argh!)
When I was a kid, my parents used to rinse the kimchi in water before serving it to me; it maintained the pickled taste without all the hot pepper.
(Probably also explains my taste for dill pickles and hot sauce!)

We just got a Phoo place in Jax that I'm dying to try out.
I miss our Mongolian BBQ. Used to have one near our house that was out of this world. The real thing, not a franchised place.

Oh Phooey.
At first read, I missed the H in Phoo. I was wondering why you would want to go there to eat.
