Drove through Indiana/lower Michigan from Chicago Saturday morning. That had gotten a couple of inches overnight. The trees and fields were beautiful, the roadways clear. Very nice but a harbinger of things to come...

I just read today that there are 3 legal peyote dealers in the state of Texas. They are only allowed to sell to Native Americans because peyote is used in some rituals. However the dealers have fallen on hard times because so much of the wild peyote is now plowed under or destroyed because peyote is still illegal for the rest of the population.

We got snow here (in upstate New York) on Monday, but it warmed back up, and it's all gone now.
