yesterday's word here had to be calima.
Last night was bad: breathing sand, sweating like pig, sand in hair and sticking to exposed skin (arms and face).
Fortunately followed by very strong winds and some rain overnight - so clear air today, and warm: 38.7°C (101.3°F) in the shade at 15:00.

How is the earthquake recovery just south(?) of you going?
Christchurch is on the South Island (map)
They've done an awesome job and a good deal of normality has returned, though the Earthquake Commission will be out by about NZ$4bn...
People have been so fantastic about looking after each other, it's amazing.

😀
I have been called the works. In fact - I use this quote sometimes when questioned:
Hedley Lamarr: "I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, $#@-kickers, #$%-kickers and Methodists".
Pick any of the above for my middle name.
