I like the 3 mile runs myself, but am training for my one and only marathon next month. Sassy, the running dog as my running group calls her, will get up to 20 miles with me. I hear if you can go 20 miles, you can finish a marathon. I hope so as 20 will be it for me in training.

Actually I think if you can run 15-16, you are fine. I don't think I ran more than that before I did my first marathon, and I finished. I've heard that if you get a little over half comfortably, you can do the rest. Depends on if you want time, or just to finish.

Best of luck. Not sure I will run another one, but I am tempted to do a few halfs.

You can get by on just doing 10 mile runs too - depends on frequency of those though.

The last one I did I would do two-a-day runs of 6 miles each and then 10 mile days back to back. That second 10 was a lot harder than the first day and harder than running miles 11-20 if doing a 20 miler in 1 day.

It all depends on the schedule you setup for it.

Because if I don't get my SSIS packages done for our environment move today, my boss will throw me out the second story window.

I'll survive the journey, but pastries will be the last thing on my mind at that point. @=)
