Scary prospect but less scary than a continuation in power of the incumbent, Gordon Jong-Il.

And that nice Mr Kennedy, Nice Mr Ashdown, Nice Mr Steel, Nice Mr Thorpe .. etc. Why are the Liberals always surprised when they don't win! - We generally don't vote Nice over here.
And we have a habit of lying to the pollsters too - like when the Tories won in 1992 - the polls said no way would they get re-elected.
Seriously it was a popular election. Its the first time I've ever had to queue to vote.

Me too, but fortunately not for long, and a good result in Reading West π
Many queued for hours only to be denied the opportunity to vote when the 10pm deadline passed. That never happened before NL created the Electoral Commission.

Ah, so you're a 'Tory'! Now the ladies underwear connection makes more sense. π
A 12% swing to take that seat is quite remarkable. DC seems like a decent guy, I hope he manages to come to some arrangement with the Lib Dems to form a proper government with a decent working majority. Looks like electoral reform might be a sticking point - but hey you guys are soooo old-fashioned with the winner takes all system!

I'm quite surprised no-one has challenged some of the very close results yet because of the issues with some people not getting to vote.

Actually, the problem is I'll need a vacation from the vacation. A week from Sunday will be 14+ hours of driving (coming home from San Antonio after going to San Angilo and Kileen TX as well).I know the feeling. I've done SLC to BurkBurnett Texas with a carload of kids - 22+ hr drive.
Summer vacation 2007, Phoenix to Houston straight, 22+ hrs without the stops, Wife,3 kids and the In-laws.
Summer vacation 2008, Phoenix to Houston straight, 22+ hrs, 3 kids and a dog.
That is NOT a vacation! Now, the question is - which was more difficult, the in-laws or the dog? (I bet I know the answer.)

The dog but surprisingly the dog was better than the wife and kids too. π
At the end of this month We're going to do the road trip from Phoenix to Salt Lake than back to Phoenix. It's only a 9 hour drive each way but it may end up taking longer than the houston trek because of stops.

There were suggestions of legal repercussions on the news this morning.
It's not the only issue with this election - substantial rigging of postal votes, primarily in favour of the recumbent incumbent - have been discovered and reported to the press.

I've also Done Utah to Ft Lauderdale, Florida but took 5 days ... one way 2 cars and a uhaul. This kids were small back then. Then several years later from Ft. Lauderdale Florida to Phoenix. 1 car used a mover. 5 days.
My worst ride was when I landed at Atlanta at midnight on Friday and started driving a Rider Truck pulling a car to Colorado Springs. Got in at 11ish on Sunday morning just in time for the kickoff for the early NFL game.

All I know is that I have tasted far too many flavors of Chili that make people cringe at the spice level that were weaker than store bought Chili.
I guess that must the chili equivalent of ajillo sin ajo, which I have met far too often - it's even worse than ajillo sin chili (which turns up too often too).

So now we wait and see whether we get one or not. It's quite boring.
It may become interesting if the Adam Smith Liberals (aka the Conservatives) "coalesce" (I hate this misuse of "coalition", but |I suppose decades of pig-ignorant news hacks have now jammed it into our vocabulary) with the Robert Owen Liberals (aka the Liberal Democrats) to end the rule of the Syndicalists (aka New Labour), because it's hard to see where that coalition would take us. All the other possibilities look pretty boring because they are thoroughly predictable.
