El Paso? Salsa... it's almost lunchtime.

    Jalapenos

Chili Cookoff (New Mexico or Arizona style!)

Don't forget Texas. It may be hell to drive through here, but we've got some go-o-o-d chili.

Wouldn't that depend on who is cooking it?? (Not saying mine is award winning, it isn't).

Doesn't matter where it is from if the person can't cook worth a lick.

My chili may not be award winning - but it sure hits the spot with the heat.

When we do have chili, it has to be wimpy. I'm the only one that appreciates spicy food.

We split it into two batches. One for me and one for everybody else. I get the spicy version and the rest eat the less spicy version

Actually, the problem is I'll need a vacation from the vacation. A week from Sunday will be 14+ hours of driving (coming home from San Antonio after going to San Angilo and Kileen TX as well).

I know the feeling. I've done SLC to BurkBurnett Texas with a carload of kids - 22+ hr drive.

Summer vacation 2007, Phoenix to Houston straight, 22+ hrs without the stops, Wife,3 kids and the In-laws.

Summer vacation 2008, Phoenix to Houston straight, 22+ hrs, 3 kids and a dog.

The funniest part is you get to El Paso from Phoenix in about 8 hours... The rest of that is all Texas.

Yeah - it isn't the drive to El Paso that is tough - it is after El Paso. And don't get caught going speed limit +1.

Chili Cookoff (New Mexico or Arizona style!)

    Joe

If we go the chili cookoff rather than nacho route, I prefer my chili to be as spicy as possible. I have not idea on style differences between Arizona and New Mexico. All I know is that I have tasted far too many flavors of Chili that make people cringe at the spice level that were weaker than store bought Chili.

    Mmmmm manchili!
