It was still dark out when I got up this morning, and the opening line to Supertramp's "Goodbye Stranger" popped into my head . . .
It was an early mornin' yesterday; I was up before the dawn . . .
and I really have enjoyed my stay, but I must be movin' on . . .

I remember buying that in Boots with my 40p pocket money. I would say thanks for the memory but I was kind of pleased to have forgotten it. 😉

Your taste has clearly improved since 1972.
(In 1972 40p was 2 pints each for me and Ann - much better than a pop single, especially that one)

Unfortunately I didn't get onto pints until around 1979 by which point they had gone up to a massive 34p each. But yes, the musical taste had also improved by then 🙂

These Boots are made for Walking - Nancy Sanatra (Not the terrible remake by Jessica Simpson!)

Not a patch on Kinky Boots by Patrick Macnee and Honor Blackman. Not only did the song contain a reference to "sexy little schoolgirls" but it also suggested that boots were the things you used to cover up your "foots".
Legendary.

Good call Ray, just listening to Crime of the Century off the same named album, can't get it out of my head. Think I may just switch to the Breakfast album later this afternoon now though 🙂

Yeah, Goodbye Stranger is off the Breakfast album. I've had a few things from Even In The Quietest Moments going though my head lately as well!

I listen to a streaming Canadian jazz station at work (http://www.jazz.fm). In the afternoon, they play an ad for a Toronto-area pizza restaurant whose jingle is to the tune of When The Saints Go Marching In.
The damn jingle has been stuck in my head since yesterday!!!
You want a pizza? You want gourmet? Try Pizzaiola-dot-C-A . . . !
I'm going to have to try this place next time I'm up there!
