hi
can anyone direct how to stop a backup schedule of master db configured in mssqlserver 2000. I have configured this backup schedule using enterprise manager.
The target location was filled frequently, it eats my hard disk space.

Hi Deena,
If you are talking about a backup scheduled using a Maintenance Plan, it is very easy. Find the Maintenace Plan by opening the Management folder in Enterprise Manager. Right click on the plan and select "Properties". You will be able to direct the plan to discard backup files older than x weeks. Or you could change the location where the files are stored to somewhere with more space available.

hi Elliott,
Thanks for ur reply,
But I have not configured the backup thro' Maintenance Plan,
For this problem
I have handled it by searching in Management->SQL Server Agent->Jobs.
Thanx

maybe you have the "append to media" selected rather than the "overwrite existing media"?! At any rate, you can still start, stop, edit, delete etc. by rightclicking on the job...

Exactly
I have opted "append to media"...

okay - then you just have to change that to "overwrite"...
