Hi all,
I can't seem to find a solution to the following.
I have a front-end page where user types text and hits the button to insert it into sql server 2K8R2
Another web tool pull this data several days later, but all line breaks are gone.
Is there a way to store data in sql server including line breaks?
Thanks,

SQL Server stores the line breaks without any problem. One of your applications must be removing the line breaks.

Thanks for reply. How can I check that?
--drop table ep
create table ep (text varchar(100))
insert into ep values (
'german
shepherd
dog'
)
select ?????
update:
I see it now. I redirected output to text and see that you're correct.
So, it must be ssms issues then. Is there a way to fix that?

That should work but put SSMS into text output mode (press ctrl-t before running), not grid mode or you won't see the line breaks.
It could be that your web application is just not rendering the text correctly - by default a line break does nothing on an html page.

The results grid will remove the line breaks, there's no way to change that. You need a front end that can display line breaks.
