We are running SQL Server 7.0 sp3 on NT4. It is a data warehouse server with 4 CPU's and 2GB of memory.
We run a nightly load from production server to the data warehouse. About 3 months ago we first had the problem where the load stopped unexpectedly with the following error:
Msg 8645, Sev 17: A time out occurred while waiting for memory resources to execute the query. Rerun the query. [SQLSTATE 42000]
Since then we have been experiencing this error more and more. All we have to do is restart the job and it will run. Obviously this is not ideal!
Has anyone come across this before? Any suggestions on how to find the cause and stop it happening?
Thanks in advance!
Meg

Are any other processes running at the same time? Dumps, VERITAS backups?
