Time out expired error when restore database from .bak file

  Hi..

  I am using sql server 2008 enterprise edition.

  i have backup file(. bak file ) from another sql server 2008 enterprise edition.

  when i am trying to restore it, it shows the following error..

  TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

  ------------------------------

  An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)

  ------------------------------

  ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.

  The backup or restore was aborted. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -2)

  can any one tell me the reason why it will happen like this?

  Are you trying to restore from network drive, if yes then please check the network is stable between two servers.

  Try verify the backup file....
