Thread Search

  • I find it very difficult to search for the threads I authored or participated in. Is there a way to group all the threads either authored or participated in by the login name? If not, could you put a link under the My Account tab called 'My Threads' ?

    Thank you.

  • Sorry, I found the thread about the same issue I posted before. See, the problem does cause duplicate postings...

    basically, this feature exists.

When you go to your profile, you'll see the threads you've participated in the timerange Now - 30.

In a non modified version of this forum software, there is a 'high(er)-level' search engine already implemented. For some reasons, this has been customized.

    Cheers,

  • Frank,

The problem is that the only way I have found to get to your profile is through one of your threads that you either authored or replied to. This is a little hard to do if you do not remember what threads you have particapated on. If there is another way, please reply to this affect.

  • The search was modified originally to support our saved searches that send you email results over time. Since then, we've implemented another peice of search software that works very well, but isn't implemented across all sections of the site.

Sorry , we're working on it.

  • I added a section. Select "My Account" above and there is an entry for "Recent Posts". Let me know if it works.

  • Steve, I don't see Recent Post under My Accounts. Logged out and logged back in.

Thank you very much for your help.

  • Sorry, Steve. I did find the Recent Posts link under My Account in the second row. I wonder why you duplicate the My Account button.

I tried the Recent Posts, it works pretty well. Thank you very much for the quick fix.

yes, it's a little bit difficult to get to a specific profile of someone else without having a concrete thread where this one participated. In the original version of Snitz forum software there is a feature called 'Members' where you can search or browse the registered members list.

However, I think the SiteOwners made a good decision to through this one out, because I'm definitely not sure how 'spam-safe' this original feature is.

    Cheers,

  • Steve,

"Recent Posts" doesn't seem to be refreshed for awhile after a new topic is posted.

    Mickey

  • I just posted and it seems ok - are you still seeing the problem?

  • Frank,

Thanks for your reply. It seems that the Site Owners (The great people that they are) have added a new listing under My Accounts that should take care of this issue.

    Dave

  • Thank you, Andy. It is working fine now.

  • Andy,

It is happening again. I posted a message 10 minutes ago and Recent Posts still hasn't showed the link, yet...

  • I'll try to look into it, will be Fri at the earliest.
