robert.sterbal 56890 - Wednesday, July 11, 2018 1:22 PMI went to the 2017 SQL Saturday. I was trying to help on social media, but that was covered, and I couldn't figure out how to pool or share photos, I took about 40 at the event.
Hmmm. Strange. We had a ton of pics posted by various folks. Wonder what went haywire?

Michael L John - Wednesday, July 11, 2018 1:42 PMI have an answer for you Ray. Blow off Boston!
LOL!!! Believe me, the thought did cross my mind!!!
Trouble is, I applied to speak at Boston twice before, and did not get picked either time. I'm hoping the third time's a charm. If they do pick me, I'm not turning it down!
Besides, Boston is only a three hour drive for me, and it's an easy three hours at that -- straight shot down I-90.

robert.sterbal 56890 - Wednesday, July 11, 2018 12:58 PMMy efforts to help have largely gone unwanted. They run a really good event, and I'll definitely try to get your session if you present!
Pittsburgh puts on a phenomenal event - the best I've been to. I'm not one to plan vacations far in advance, but this is a annual event on my calendar. I plan to speak there every year until I retire as long as they're willing to put up with me.

Woo-hoo! After twice applying to speak at SQL Saturday in Boston (both unsuccessful), I was finally accepted on my third try! I guess the third time really is a charm!
I will be doing my presentation on networking!

Probably soon. We just found out that they needed another precon and so Ed and I are going to do a representation of the "Black Arts" Indexes precon that we did in 2016 at Pittsburgh. We were also told that our Saturday sessions have been accepted just because the subject came up.

Yes, I'm very much looking forward to Pittsburgh. They always put on such a great event all the way around.

@steve-2 Jones,
Hope you're still going to Pittsburgh. It's been a while since I've seen you in person. I also know that Ed Wagner is very much looking forward to meeting you, as well.

I've never seen anything formerly posted, but in my speaker's emails, if you're chosen to speak, they suggest blogging it, posting it to your social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and so on.

Did they give you a checklist or a timeline for posting?

No. It's very loose and informal. Really, all it says is, "let people know you're speaking" and how you do it is pretty much up to you.

Where would be the most logical place to develop a guide?
