Just found out my 2 session presentation on "Black Arts" Index Maintenance has been accepted for Columbus, OH on July 28th.  Really looking forward to it.

Jeff, If you're 100% doing this, I'll make arrangement to come up for your presentation.
I'm origianlly from Dayton, OH (45 mins from Columbus). Getting to meet you, spending time with some much neglected family and nice tax decuctable mini-vacation is a pretty solid win in my book.

Oh yeah... 100% committed.  I'll be making Hotel arrangements tonight.  I plan on getting there about 5PM on Friday night and I'm planning on staying Saturday night.  Well, unless it's going to snow. 😀

Hello Jeff, Is anything happening with the Detroit PASS group? I attended a couple of SQL Saturdays but haven't seen anything since a couple years ago.

  • Woo-hoo!  Just got the email saying I've been picked to speak at my hometown (Albany) SQL Saturday on July 28!

  • Congrats, Ray. I was hoping to come, but on holiday that week.

Congrats, Ray. I was hoping to come, but on holiday that week.

You'll have to get out here one of these years, Steve!  Don't I still owe you a drink?

We both submitted to Pittsburgh; maybe I can pay it off then! 🙂

Oh yes... Ed Wagner and I "rebooted" the group back in November and have had monthly meetings since.  You missed some good ones, so far.

Here's the link for the upcoming meeting.  Ed had cleared a ton of bad email addresses from EventBrite.  If you sign up for this one, your email addresses will be added to the mailing list.

Shifting gears a bit, I did see that finding the group on EventBrite is damned near impossible.  I'll get with Ed on that.  I think the "fix" is pretty easy.

And yeah, finding the group on Eventbrite is impossible.  Well, it is for me anyway.  Jeff, if you know the fix, we'll have to talk over lunch.

  • We've gone to Meetup for our monthly meetings and our monthly lunch.  IIRC, we still use EventBrite for SQL Saturdays.

Do you have the unlimited Meetup?  Also, do you find loads of people signing up for your group, even ones who don't live anywhere close to Colorado and obviously aren't going to show up?

Your first question I can't answer at the moment but I will find out.  And actually, I am not aware of loads of people signing up for our group.  Something else I may have to research.
